Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- British and Ethiopian organizations released statements on May 22 and 27 to mark the first anniversary of the adoption of the historic June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement. The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association UK and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification of the Korean Peninsula in their joint statement said that the adoption of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement gave hope and expectation for peace to the world people. The DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement clarified that the two countries would commit themselves to establish new bilateral relations as desired by their peoples and make joint efforts to build a durable and solid peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula, they noted. They urged the U.S. to withdraw its hostile policy towards the DPRK and make efforts to build a new peace mechanism on the Korean peninsula. The Confederation of Taekwon-do of Ethiopia in its statement said that the sincere implementation of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement is the only way of ensuring peace and security in the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world. It noted that the U.S. should honestly take practical measures suited to the sincere and positive efforts of the DPRK to implement the joint statement. We will more dynamically conduct the solidarity movement for supporting the Korean people together with the world's progressives, it added. |
