Work for Exterminating Harmful Insects by Model Plane Draws Attention

| Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- The forest inspection and quarantine station under the North Hwanghae Provincial Forest Management Bureau in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea developed by its own efforts a model plane and introduced it into a work for exterminating harmful insects, drawing the attention of people. In this regard, Kim Chol Han, director of the station, told KCNA: Diffusing Trichogramma dendrolimi by a model plane gives no harmful effect to environment. Two persons can diffuse Trichogramma dendrolimi on one hundred hectares of forest within 20 minutes by controlling the model plane. On the basis of experiences gained in its introduction into various regions, the station is striving to increase the number of planes and introduce them into forest protection work. The diffusing of parasitic bees by using a model plane was highly appreciated at the 2nd National Exhibition of Forest Science and Technology. |
