The temperature was lower than the average in the whole areas of Jagang and Ryanggang provinces and most areas of North Phyongan Province of the DPRK including Pyokdong and Suphung.

In the period, the average temperature across the country stood at 16.9 degrees centigrade, but that in the Amnok River basin was 14 degrees centigrade, 1.9 degrees lower than the average.

In particular, the daily temperature on May 28 and 31 was respectively 12.8 and 13.2 degrees centigrade, 2.8 and 3.0 degrees lower than the average.

Such phenomenon was attributable to frequent clouds and rainfall by the northern low-pressure.
