The symposium under the theme "Breeding and introduction of functional vegetable species and putting the production of greenhouse vegetable on an intensive and modern basis" is focused on the wide dissemination and generalization of the scientific research successes and experience achieved in the greenhouse vegetable production and cultivation technology development.

The symposium includes a presentation of scientific research successes and technical experience and sci-tech and practical lectures.

Present at the opening ceremony were Pak Thae Dok, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and officials, researchers and cultivators of greenhouse vegetable production field.

The symposium will last till June 26.
