Present there were officials of the Ministry of Public Health and those of relevant units, voluntary blood donors and the acting representative of the WHO office here and members of the missions of international organizations in the DPRK, a delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies working in the DPRK and staff members of foreign embassies here.

Speeches were made there.

Speakers expressed thanks to those donating their blood, referring to the aim and significance of the World Blood Donor Day and importance of the recruitment of donors.

They stressed the need to improve the services to donors and the quality of experimental test in the sector of blood transfusion so as to contribute to medical treatment of patients with blood and its products whose security is fully guaranteed.

The participants looked round the blood-gathering room and photos of blood donation before enjoying a performance given by the Central Art Squad for Agitation for Increased Production.

On the same day similar events took place in all provinces.
