Javid Ahmad, director of the Administrative Department of the Kuwait Times who doubles as chairman of the Kuwait Asian Journalist Association, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events including seminar and film show to praise Kim Il Sung's revolutionary career and feats from June 11 to July 9.
