DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement Supported by Personages of Russia and Algeria
Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Russian and Algerian personages released statements on June 7 and 9 to mark the first anniversary of the adoption of the historic June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement.

Gennadi Astakhov, chairman of the Tynda Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea in Russia, said that June 12, 2018 was the day of the publication of the joint statement in which the DPRK and the U.S. agreed to put an end to the long-standing relations of hostility and open up a new future.

The statement went on:

The June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement brought a hope for the settlement of peace on the Korean peninsula which was the theatre of the most acute nuclear confrontation in the world.

It also had a great impact on global peace and security.

Thanks to the adoption of the joint statement, a turning point was provided to remove the danger of war and open a new era of peace and prosperity on the Korean peninsula.

Thanks to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's bold decision and great magnanimity, the door for dialogue and negotiation was opened to improve the relations between the DPRK and the U.S. which remained extremely hostile to each other in the world.

The chairman of the Algeria-Korea Friendship Association voiced full support for the DPRK government and people in their struggle for peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula, and expressed the will to conduct more vigorous activities for solidarity with the Korean people, saying that the Korean people will surely accomplish the cause of national reunification under the wise leadership of the respected H.E. Kim Jong Un.
