Chairman Kim Jong Il's Exploits Praised by Foreigners
Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Events were held in different countries on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the 19th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, the "period of the international action for peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean peninsula" and the first anniversary of the adoption of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement.

Meetings and book and photo shows were held in Mexico, Romania and Switzerland and a seminar took place in Russia and a solidarity meeting in Sweden from May 30 to June 15.

Speeches were made at the events attended by personages of various circles in the relevant countries.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico praised the exploits of Kim Jong Il, saying that the Korean people firmly defended the country's dignity and sovereignty under the guidance of the WPK while meeting all challenges by hostile forces.

The first secretary of the Amur Regional Branch Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation stressed that Kim Jong Il's exploits for Party building are shining more brilliantly thanks to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, expressing invariable support for the stand of the WPK on peace and stability of the Korean peninsula.

The chairman of the Mexico-Korea Friendship Association praised Kim Jong Il for providing the north-south summit meeting for the first time in the history of division of the Korean nation and making sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, an immortal programme for Korea's reunification, was published.

The chairman of the Romanian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and the chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee praised Kim Jong Un, pointing out that the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement was a fruit of his outstanding diplomatic strategy and bold decision.
