Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) -- Saber Ballul, head of the Department of the Political Faculty of University of Damascus in Syria, released a statement on June 12 to mark the first anniversary of the adoption of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement. He said that on June 12 last year, a summit meeting and talks were held between Supreme Leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Trump for the first time in history and the DPRK-U.S. joint statement was made public. He went on: Mankind expected that the DPRK and the U.S. which has been most hostile to each other on the earth would write a new history. The DPRK answered the international community's demand for peace and prosperity with putting important and strategic decisions into practice. But the U.S. does not implement the DPRK-U.S. joint statement and insists on the demand unacceptable to the DPRK. The U.S. attitude will never work on the DPRK. Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, released a statement on June 12 in support of the Korean people in their struggle for peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean peninsula. He referred to the significance of the April 27 Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement, and noted that the declaration and joint statement should be implemented for peace and prosperity on the peninsula. |
