Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Among the armed organizations active for Korea's liberation from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule was the "Kim Il Sung Corps". The corps was named after President Kim Il Sung, a legendary hero of the anti-Japanese war. It, organized by a political worker of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) in Seoul in Juche 31 (1942), was a revolutionary resistance organization grouping people of different strata who pledged to sacrifice their lives for the sacred national liberation struggle as the revolutionary soldiers of General Kim Il Sung, the sun of the nation. The corps was active with the objective of rallying the broad masses and preparing them for resistance against the Japanese to participate in the sacred war for national liberation by joining the KPRA in its operation for the final attack. It also publicized that the Pacific War would soon end in Japan's defeat, that Korea would become independent, that Korea would adopt a political system under which all the people would live in equality and happiness without any discrimination between the rich and the poor, and that Kim Il Sung would be the supreme leader of liberated Korea. The organization extended its influence over the area around Mosulpho in Jeju Island and other parts of the homeland including major munitions factories, enterprises, harbors and military construction sites and even among the Koreans who had been drafted to work as laborers in Japan. The formation and activities of the "Kim Il Sung Corps" gave an impetus to the struggle of the Korean people who turned out in the final decisive battle against the Japanese imperialists as well as the world anti-fascist movement and the struggle of peoples in colonies. |
