Sazhi Umalatova, chairwoman of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, and M. A. Suraikin, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party "Russian Communists", were elected chairpersons of the remembrance committees.

The committees decided to give wide publicity to Kim Il Sung's career and exploits through media and hold political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting on the occasion of the anniversary of his demise.
