According to an official concerned, the coal mining complexes have pushed ahead with the work to secure promising cutting faces as many as possible on the basis of the detailed survey of coal-bed conditions.

The Tokchon Area Coal-Mining Complex and the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-Mining Complex secured more than one hundred preparatory cutting faces each, while the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-Mining Complex considerably increased the number of preparatory cutting faces.

Kaechon and Kujang area coal-mining complexes, too, secured dozens of preparatory cutting faces by giving precedence to tunneling.

The same is true of various collieries in Tukjang, Kangdong, Hamnam and Chonnae areas.
