Anniversary of Korean Youth Publication Marked in Japan

Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on June 29 to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Korean Youth Publication of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon). Attending the event were Jo Il Yon, vice-chairman and director of the Organization Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee; Kim Song Hun, director of the Department for Publicity and Culture of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee; Ko Tok U, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon; Kim Ik Sun, chairperson of the Nishi Tokyo Headquarters of Chongryon; leading officials of organizations and affiliates; Jo Myong Jin, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan; and other officials of its headquarters in different parts of Japan, Pak Ok Sam, vice-chairman and director of the Department for Publicity and Culture of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan and concurrently chief of the Korean Youth Publication, and incumbent and former officials. A message of greetings from Chongnyon Jonwi Office in the homeland was read out at the meeting. Jo Il Yon made a congratulatory speech. He underlined the need for the Korean Youth Publication to bring about a new turn in editing and disseminating the publications keeping step with the youth in the motherland in the vigorous struggle in the future, too and to make the publications popular among the Korean youth in Japan as desired by them so as to make the publications more influential. He expressed the conviction that officials of the Korean Youth League in Japan and the Korean Youth Publication will take the lead in ushering in a new heyday of Chongryon and the movement of Koreans in Japan. Then Pak Ok Sam made a report. A letter to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting. |
