On the basis of confirming the distribution state of underground ultra-saline water, salt works increased the number of drilling holes and turned some evaporating ponds into crystallization ponds.

They also raised the rate of mechanization at crystallization ponds and thus laid a foundation for producing more than one hundred tons of salt per hectare with less manpower.

100-odd processes for producing salt from underground ultra-saline water are now arranged at those salt works in the west coast of the country.
