The root of revolutionary power in Korea was created in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

President Kim Il Sung set forth the Juche-oriented line of building a power at the historic Kalun Meeting, the Winter Mingyuegou Meeting and other meetings and led the work for establishing the people's revolutionary government suited to the specific conditions of the Korean revolution at the guerrilla zones in the area along the River Tuman.

After Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule, he, on the basis of experience of power building gained in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, established the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea and founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the genuine people's state representing the interests of all the Korean people, in September Juche 37 (1948).

The President also made public classic works on building power in each period and at each stage of the developing revolution to make the people's power fully perform its mission and role as a powerful weapon of revolution and construction.

His immortal idea and feats on power building were firmly inherited by Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The Chairman thoroughly established the Party's monolithic ideological system and the Party's unified leadership system in power body and saw to it that the solidity of the state social system and the independent and creative life of the popular masses are firmly guaranteed by law.

He personally cast his votes for the candidates for deputies to local power bodies and led the provincial, city and county people's committees to fully discharge their function and role as the masters responsible for the livelihood of the people.

Under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, now the function and role of people's power are further strengthened and the people's trust in the DPRK government is getting higher as never before.
