The championship, held in Kazakhstan, brought together more than 280 men and women players from 10-odd countries and regions, including the DPRK, China and Uzbekistan.

The DPRK players bagged two gold medals and one bronze.

Jang Jin Hyang and Kim Ji Hyang won gold medals in the female 43kg and 49kg categories and Kim Jin A a bronze medal in the female 40kg category.
