Campaign for Saving Electricity Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- A campaign for saving electricity is brisk in the DPRK.

Many units have introduced a self-supporting power production system and new electricity-saving technologies.

The Ryongnam Dockyard installed wind-powered generators and built photovoltaic and gas coal power plants to turn out more than 100,000 kWh electric power every month.

The Ryuwon Footwear Factory conducts its production and management activities with electricity produced by a solar generating system and the Rungna People's Pleasure Park Management Office introduced a grid-connected solar generating system.

The South Hamgyong Provincial Power Distribution Station takes the lead in introducing the national integrated power control system. It turned the provincial electric power system into power-saving one.

The Pyongyang Musical Instrument Factory applied a computer control program for power management to alternative production and installed an automatic power-factor adjustment device which can ensure power factor at over 98 percent, thus saving 25 percent of electricity.

The factory also adapted equipment and facilities for the ones with less electricity consumption and high productivity.
