Those sundry goods are associated with the warm love of President Kim Il Sung who had paid close attention to the people's livelihood.

Early in January Juche 66 (1977), a meeting took place in the presence of the President to discuss the economic plans of various fields for the year. Laid before it were also a list of ordered sundry goods and a plan for their production.

At the meeting, a senior official of the State Planning Commission tried to pass the list of sundry goods, separately bound, without any mention since it was worked out under the detailed guidance of the President and officials concerned were well aware of it.

But, the President advised him to slowly and fully read out the list of 206 sundry goods, saying that the production of sundry goods is one of the most important matters for the people's livelihood and this matter cannot be adopted in a separate volume without any explanation.

Then, he stressed that as the production of sundry goods is one of the revolutionary tasks set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea, it would be advisable to decide only a sundry good production plan for the year by means of raising hands, and raised his right hand before anyone else. And he suggested that all the participants in the meeting applaud to deepen the significance of this decision.

The President added that the implementation of the production plan should be reviewed on the basis of the people's appraisal.

Thus, the production of 206 sundry goods began and the number of kinds of sundry goods has further increased after that.
