The championship, held in Chinese Taipei from July 23 to 27, brought together more than 260 men and women players from 16 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, Indonesia, India and Iran.

In team events (TT6-TT7), DPRK players Jon Ju Hyon and Kim Yong Rok defeated their south Korean rivals in the quarterfinals and their Thai rivals in the semifinals.

In the finals on July 27 they defeated their Chinese rivals and won gold medals.

And Jon Ju Hyon came third in individual event (TT6).
