Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- Six years have passed since the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum was reconstructed on July 27, Juche 102 (2013) to mark the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. Since then, many historic data, remains and photos have been newly exhibited at the museum. Among the newly-exhibited more than 70 historic data are documents showing that President Kim Il Sung visited Kwangju of South Jolla Province in August 1950 and gave instructions on strengthening the coast defense in the southwestern area of Korea, restoring and consolidating the party and power organs and hastening the enforcement of the agrarian reform and other democratic reforms in the liberated southern area. There is also data that the President placed a duty of defending the area along the River Chongchon upon the commander of the Seoul Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army (KPA) in Nyongbyon County of North Phyongan Province in October 1950. Seen in the museum are tens of remains, including the citation and medal certification with the image and the august name of Kim Il Sung awarded to an officer who graduated from a military academy with full marks in May 1951, the hero medal and certification sent by the bereaved family of DPRK Hero An Tong Su, handbooks used by the KPA soldiers and a commendation winners list. Displayed at the Guards Units Hall are 16 photos including photos of the President inspecting guards divisions. There are also an order of the Supreme Commander of the KPA to award the title of guards unit and photos of 205 commanding personnel and 99 DPRK heroes produced by the guards units. The newly-supplemented data would be helpful to deeply and widely showing undying exploits of war victory performed by the President and the history of the 1950-1953 Fatherland Liberation War. |
