Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- It has been 60 years since the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum was inaugurated on Aug. 7, Juche 48 (1959). During the past six decades, over 139 million people including working people, service personnel, youth and students, overseas compatriots and foreigners have visited Mangyongdae. The visitors to the museum looked round with deep attention rooms for the historical data showing that President Kim Il Sung was born into a patriotic and revolutionary family and spent his childhood, nurturing a high ambition for revolution. They visited the President's old home in Mangyongdae in humble reverence for him who devoted his life to the country and people. Seeing around the historical mementoes preserved in the straw-thatched old home and various historical places like Swing Site, Sliding Rock, Warship Rock, etc., the visitors keenly felt that the President was a peerlessly great man and peerless patriot who harbored the lofty intention of loving the country, nation and people. Over 231,000 overseas compatriots and south Koreans and 1.21 million foreigners also visited Mangyongdae to grasp the sacred revolutionary career and history of the President. |
