Indian Body Demands Halt to Military Drills Targeting DPRK
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- The All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association on Aug. 7 made public a statement in support of the press statement issued by a spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to condemn the U.S. and south Korean authorities' hostile military acts.

The statement said that the U.S. and south Korean authorities launched the joint military exercises posing a big threat to the efforts for peace on the Korean peninsula, branding them as an undisguised denial and a flagrant violation of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement, Panmunjom Declaration and September Pyongyang Joint Declaration.

It went on:

The U.S. has escalated military tension with hostility toward the DPRK by massively deploying latest offensive military equipment in south Korea. This proves that the U.S. and the south Korean authorities do not have any political will to implement the joint statements in which they committed to improve the DPRK-U.S. relations and the inter-Korean relations, and that they would remain hostile toward the DPRK.

The U.S. and south Korean authorities will not be able to evade their responsibilities for compelling the DPRK to take countermeasures to remove potential and direct threats to its security.

The statement strongly demanded an immediate halt to the joint military exercises for the sake of peace and security of the Korean peninsula.
