Many Revolutionary Songs Composed during Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Struggle

Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- A number of revolutionary songs which are run through with the indomitable revolutionary spirit, transparent anti-imperialist class consciousness and revolutionary optimism were composed and disseminated during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle led by President Kim Il Sung, arousing the anti-Japanese guerrillas and broad masses of people to the holy war for liberating the country. The President wrote such famous songs as "Song of Korea," "The Flower Girl," Song of the Sea of Blood," "Nostalgia," "Song of Anti-Japanese War," "Song of the Ten-Point Programme of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland," "Korean People's Revolutionary Army", all of which served as a motive force to inspire the revolutionary ranks with the revolutionary fighting spirit and faith and bring earlier the liberation of the country. The immortal revolutionary hymn "Star of Korea" composed by youth revolutionaries of new generation was widely spread, instilling great hope into the Korean nation longing for the savior of the country. "Song of General Mobilization" and other revolutionary songs helped imbue the wandering stateless people with anti-Japanese idea and encourage them to the revolutionary struggle against the Japanese imperialist aggressors and the exploiting class. Among the revolutionary songs are those representing the invincible spirit of the anti-Japanese guerrillas who turned out in the armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists under the leadership of the President. They include "Song of Struggle in Jail" and "Road of Revolution". There are also revolutionary songs explaining the President's line of anti-Japanese national united front and reflecting the ardent desire to build a new society in which the people become its master. |
