Present at the event held under the sponsorship of the State Commission of Science and Technology were teachers, researchers, graduate students, designers, field officials and engineers from units under the Education Commission, the State Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and the Ministry of Machine-building Industry, the Tideland Reclamation Management Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and others.

Over 400 valuable papers conducive to putting the field of hydraulic engineering on a high level were presented to the event, which was held divided into hydraulic engineering, electricity and information and heat and machine panels.

There were exchanges for generalizing successes and experience achieved in the researches for grand nature-remaking and modern and IT-based national economy.
