Chairman Kim Jong Il's Songun Revolutionary Leadership

Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- It has been 59 years since Chairman Kim Jong Il started his Songun revolutionary leadership. He, together with President Kim Il Sung, visited the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army (KPA) on August 25, Juche 49 (1960). The division, organized by the President after the liberation of Korea, advanced into Seoul three days after the start of the Fatherland Liberation War to hoist the DPRK's flag atop the puppet Capital Building and showed the mettle of the heroic KPA in many battles like the combats to liberate Seoul and Taejon. That day, the Chairman recollected the proud history of the division and said that in order to accomplish the task set forth by the President it is important to train tankmen politically, ideologically and in military technique. Kim Jong Il, who started the Songun revolutionary leadership with his visit to the division, led the revolution and construction to victory, tightly holding arms of revolution all his life. In particular, he continued his inspection of the frontline units of the KPA in the middle of the 1990s and brought about a heyday in all fields of the revolution and construction by harmoniously combining the politics and military affairs. He visited more than 2490 units in the field of armed forces to the last moment of his life. His immortal exploits is being carried forward by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. The Supreme Leader visited the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the KPA in the morning of the New Year 2012. His visit to the division is a historic event to declare the succession of the revolutionary cause of Juche. Under his wise guidance, the KPA is displaying the might of the invincible revolutionary army capable of successfully fighting any modern war and is honorably performing its mission as the creator of the people's happiness. |
