The Youth Day is associated with the warm love and deep trust of the peerlessly great men for the young people.

President Kim Il Sung formed the Young Communist League of Korea with youth revolutionaries of new type on August 28, Juche 16 (1927).

Under his guidance, many young people fully displayed their heroic stamina and wisdom as the Korean youth in the sacred struggle for the country and the nation in the grim annals of the revolution.

Chairman Kim Jong Il set August 28 as the Youth Day to glorify the immortal feats the President performed for the development of the Juche-oriented youth movement.

The Chairman made public famous works, including "Young Men and Women, Be the Vanguard Unfailingly Loyal to the Party and the Leader", a letter addressed to the young people throughout the country and the officials of the youth league in August 1991, to clearly show the road ahead of the youth movement in each period and at each stage of the revolution.

The Youth Day is shining more brilliantly thanks to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who adds brilliance to the idea and exploits of the President and the Chairman on the youth movement.

The Supreme Leader saw to it that grand celebrations were held to mark the first Youth Day in the new century of Juche in August 2012 and sent a congratulatory letter to the delegates to the celebrations and all the young people of the country.

He attended the 9th Congress of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League in August 2016 to make a historic speech. And he took a step to call the youth league the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League and conferred its flag at the Congress.

Pride and honor of the Korean youths are shining more brilliantly along with the Youth Day.
