President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il successfully settled the youth issue in the DPRK to provide a model of the world youth movement and showed the road ahead of the world youth movement in keeping with the demand of the developing times.

In his works such as "Progressive Youth of the World, Unite and Fight Vigorously against Imperialism", the President stressed that the youths, persons in charge of the building of a new society and masters of the future world, should take the lead in the struggle to build a free and peaceful new world, a happy and prosperous new society, and the progressive youths in all countries should unite and closely cooperate with each other irrespective of difference in ideology, social system and religious belief.

The Chairman, in his work "The Present Times and the Tasks Facing Young People" published on October 12, Juche 77 (1988), said that the young people should clearly understand the cunning and foul nature of modern imperialism and turn out in the anti-imperialist struggle to rescue the destiny of humankind from the imperialist tentacles and defend their youth.

The 13th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Pyongyang under the care of the President and the Chairman, displayed the might of the unity and solidarity of the world youth and students.

Towards the end of the 20th century when the world youth movement was undergoing a crisis, the Chairman made public famous works to give a clear-cut exposition of the position and role of the youths and the basic way for solving the youth problem.

The peerlessly great men's politics of prioritizing and loving the youth has been creditably carried forward by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. On this fact, the general secretary of the World Federation of Democratic Youth said that the Korean youth movement has become a model of the world youth movement.
