The university has gained a lot of successes in the training of able technicians and in scientific research under the care of the peerlessly great persons for the last six decades since its founding on September 1, Juche 48 (1959).

It pioneered over 40 subjects including "Outline of Hydraulic Engineering" and "Outline of Electric Engineering" and improved the contents and methods of education and put the education on a high IT basis.

It published books such as "Irrigation in Korea", "Construction Library", "Geothermal Pump" and "Flexible Alternating Current Transmission" and textbooks and reference books of more than 350 kinds and established the serial educational system, online education system, etc.

It has produced hundreds of holders of academic degrees and titles, including academicians, professors and doctors, and a number of October 8 Model Professors.

The university has made more than 3,200 research achievements conducive to developing hydrodynamic field and economy of the country.
