During the contest which was held at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street and the Rungna People's Sports Park, men and women players of 26 teams selected in Pyongyang and provinces competed in group league and knockout matches.

The men's team from Kangwon Province and the women's team from South Phyongan Province took the first place respectively.
