Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry is a comprehensive base for training technicians in the field of light industry, which was founded and developed under the care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, and the one which has performed meritorious deeds in the struggle for improving the people's standard of living.

Kim Il Sung founded the university on September 1, Juche 48(1959) and indicated the orientation and ways for the university.

Kim Jong Il directed his attention to the work of the university and developed it into a pedigree establishment training talented technicians for the light industry with strong educational and scientific force and a firm material and technical foundation.

Pyongyang Jang Chol Gu University of Commerce is a pedigree establishment to train officials for the commercial and public catering service sectors of the DPRK, which was founded and developed under the plan and care of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Kim Il Sung founded the university on September 1, 1959 and energetically led the work of the university. Kim Jong Il saw to it that the university trained talents for commercial and public catering service sectors by decisively improving the quality of education.

For the past six decades since its foundation, Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy has developed into an important one with strong educational and scientific force and into a powerful educational institution training reliable talented technicians to be in charge of the leading sectors of the national economy.

The President founded Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy on September 1, 1959 and led the university to achieve successes in education and scientific research.

The Chairman paid deep attention to the work of the university and a series of visits to it during his on-site guidance trips of forced march to appreciate it as the one of merits, which has made contributions to the prosperity of the country, and show his belief in and warm loving care for it.
