Japan should accept his remarks as a reproof for its moral baseness of remaining indifferent to demand of the world public and the trend of the times, says Rodong Sinmun today in a commentary.

It is a duty of offender, human ethics and morality and international usages to make a sincere reflection on the past crimes and reparation to victim, the commentary says, and goes on:

There is no country but Japan that remains narrow-minded and childish in dealing with the past crimes.

The German president apologized for the atrocities by fascist German troops during his recent visit to Italy.

It proved once again that no statute of limitations is applicable to war crimes.

Germany has made efforts to liquidate the past while punishing war criminals after admitting its war crimes.

But, what have the Japanese reactionaries been doing?

Shortly ago, about 50 lawmakers belonging to the supra-partisan legislators' league visited the Yasukuni Shrine to incite militarism and Prime Minister Abe offered a sacrifice to it, which is an act swimming against history.

The peoples of the world are shocked to see the act of Japan quite different from that of Germany.

The Japanese reactionaries have no intention to make reflection on and reparation for its war crimes, but a strong desire to take the road of overseas aggression as done by their forerunners.

If Japan pays no heed to the mindset of the world public and runs counter to the trend of the times, it will meet only international abandonment and ruin. Japan should bear it in mind and settle its past as soon as possible.
