Campaign for Preventing Damage from Typhoon-13 Launched in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- A nationwide campaign was launched in the DPRK to prevent damage from Typhoon-13 which is rapidly moving towards the north in the Korean peninsula.

Urgent steps are being taken to minimize the damage by typhoon and heavy rain with the whole state and the entire Party and army involved.

The party and government bodies and the armed forces organs are making detailed survey of possible circumstances and taking relevant measures.

Along with the work to inform in real time all the provinces of course of the moving typhoon received from the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, they are getting ready to urgently dispatch forces to damaged areas by using various kinds of alarm and communications means and secure relief goods and building equipment and materials and mobilize transport means in emergency.

Primary attention has been directed to protecting the crops, sea dikes, dams and reservoirs from the typhoon and downpour.

Meanwhile, such steps were taken to manage the volume of water in Amnok, Taedong and other river basins in a unified way, move inhabitants from low areas in any region to be possibly stricken by the typhoon damage and deploy watchmen in order to protect roads, bridges, public buildings and houses from the damage.
