Big Efforts Paid to Effective Use of Energy in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- Big efforts have been paid to the effective use of energy in the DPRK.

A national exhibition of sci-tech successes in the field of energy took place recently. On display there were achievements conducive to improving the energy production method and converting the country's economy into an energy-saving one.

Kim Il Sung University presented a proposal for monolithic solar generating system and a proposal for multifunctional fuel additives helpful to raising the octane and cetane rating of gasoline and diesel oil.

The Natural Energy Institute under the State Academy of Sciences exhibited a technology of prospecting groundwater needed for geothermal cooling and heating and such proposals as the rational distribution of individual blast coil at the geothermal air-conditioning system, new-type tank that can store methane gas emitted from various dung and agricultural by-products, and water recirculation process by bio-filtration.

The Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex developed insulating fire bricks with low heat conductivity to enhance the heat-preserving rate and tightness of boiler furnace.

Brine magnesium air-fuel cell, substitute charcoal producing technology and tube lead accumulator manufacturing technology also attracted the attention of visitors for their high practical value.

Meanwhile, a work is going in real earnest in different parts of the country to utilize solar heat, biomass, wind and other energy resources.

In particular, South Phyongan Province introduced a generating system by coal gasification into various cities and counties to supply electricity needed for production and management of local industrial factories.
