Recently, valuable successes were made by the Forest Science College, the Chemistry Faculty, the Life Science Faculty, the Geology Faculty and the High-Tech Development Institute of the university.

Among them are rooting stimulants "Ryongnam 1 and 2", which are helpful to ensuring the survival rate on a higher level than before in transplanting tall trees in spring.

The newly-confirmed mixing ratio of substrate for sapling production makes it possible to reduce the sapling growing period and put the production on a scientific basis of higher level.

The university also succeeded in a work to substitute mineral matter for supplementary raw materials of substrate used in the cultivation of club-shaped mushroom.

And it developed various kinds of pigment with ocher and hematite and other minerals.
