National Exhibition of Korean Dress Held
Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- The 17th National Exhibition of Korean Dress took place at the Central Youth Hall in Pyongyang on September 4-6.

The exhibition has been held in the country every year since Juche 92 (2003).

According to an official concerned, national dresses with diverse trimmings were put on display at the recent exhibition.

The Ministry of Light Industry, the National Costume Workshop under the Korean Folklore Museum and the National Costume Workshop under the Korea Minye Corporation exhibited various kinds of chima and jogori (women's traditional clothes) made of silk fabrics and colored threads on the basis of diverse embroidering methods.

What drew attention of participants were also new kinds of chima and jogori presented by North Phyongan and North Hamgyong provinces, women's ceremonial dresses and overcoats by South Phyongan Province and Nampho City and men's traditional jackets and trousers and children's clothes by Rason City.

The exhibition serves as an occasion for showing the development of Korean dresses.
