It was attended by officials, teachers, researchers and postgraduates from Kim Il Sung University, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, University of Sciences, the State Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Agricultural Science, an institute of the Central Botanical Garden and other units.

The presentation was divided into panels of bioengineering, biology, botany, zoology and microbiology. It heard more than 190 papers contributable to putting the biology of the country on the ultramodern level in line with the trend of the development of world biology, to developing the self-supporting economy and improving the people's standard of living.

The successes achieved by young scientists in the researches for solving in our own way scientific and technological issues arising in fields of agriculture, stock-breeding, fishery, public health, environmental protection and food industry drew the attention of the participants.

Introduced there were experience for protecting the resources of animals and plants of the country and propagating rare animals and plants.
