DPRK Weightlifter Wins Three Gold Medals

| Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- DPRK weightlifter Om Yun Chol, a world's superstar, won three gold medals in the 2019 World Weightlifting Championship of the International Weightlifting Federation, thus retaining the championship. Some 600 ace men and women players from 100-odd countries and regions including the DPRK, Vietnam, Indonesia and Germany are competing in the championship opened on Sep. 18. Om Yun Chol perfectly performed successive movements at the men's 55kg jerk and thus succeeded in 166kg on Sep. 18. He renewed the world record and took the first place. He lifted 128kg in snatch, winning a gold medal. He lifted a total of 294kg, setting a new world record. |
