The qualifying matches was held on a round-robin basis, divided into 11 groups and 11 winners in each group and 4 runners-up with good scores among the teams that came second will advance into championship matches together with the team of the host country.

In the group I the DPRK team beat its Guam rival 16:0 in the first game and its Singaporean team 6:1 in the second game.

Its game with Hong Kong team of China took place on Sep. 21.

The DPRK team took the initiative from the start of the game and attacked the Hong Kong team of China to beat it 4:0.

The DPRK team took the first place in the group and has been qualified for the 2020 AFC U-16 Championship.
