Waste treatment factories in Pyongyang and the Central Heat Network Station have used ash of coal, slag from thermal power plants and other daily wastes for the production of various building materials like block.

In Kangwon Province, industrial wastes like waste plastic, waste rubber and by-product from wood have been effectively used in producing plastic tube, rubber pad, furniture and raw materials for construction.

In South Hwanghae Province, shell and waste plastic have been used in producing paints.

Similar works have been conducted in Nampho City and South Hamgyong Province, too.
