Present there on invitation were Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Li Jinjun, staff members of his embassy and Chinese students and guests staying in the DPRK.

Attending it were Thae Hyong Chol, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ri Chang Gun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Kil Song, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Pak Chun Sik, vice-minister of Culture, Pak Kyong Il, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and chairman of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, and officials concerned.

Pak Kyong Il said in his speech at the reception that the founding of the PRC was a glorious result of victory in the people's revolution gained through the long and arduous struggle by the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and the 70 years over which the Chinese people have traversed were the days of creation and change for building a prosperous country in China.

He expressed the will to make an active contribution to the overall prosperity of the DPRK-China relations by further boosting friendly exchange and cooperation hand in hand with the Chinese comrades this year marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries true to the sacred intentions of the top leaders of the two countries.

Li Jinjun said that over the past 70 years the People's Republic of China has made great achievements in various fields and change has taken place in the standard of living of the people.

Saying that he is pleased with the progress made by the Korean people in the economic development, improvement of the living standard and external relations under the guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Chairman Kim Jong Un, he voiced his stand to keep visits of high-level personnel, strengthen strategic communication and deepen friendship and cooperation under the important agreement reached by the top leaders of the two countries.
