The competition, divided into marathon, half-marathon, 10km and 5 km running, drew many amateur runners from the DPRK, China, Russia, Germany, Poland, Indonesia, Hong Kong of China and other counties and regions.

When the signal was given, they began running on the road near Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace.

After the competition, participation certificates were conferred on the winners.
