Rodong Sinmun Blasts S. Korean Authorities for Misleading Public Opinion
Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities recently tried to shift the responsibility for inter-Korean ties in deadlock onto the north.

Some days ago, the minister of Unification of south Korea said it is attributable to the north that the dialogue between the north and the south has failed to be resumed. The defense minister of south Korea, faulting the north for its measures of bolstering up its military capability for self-defence, claimed that "the north is ratcheting up the tension."

Rodong Sinmun in a commentary on Wednesday says that the remarks of the south Korean authorities are nothing but impudent ones to remain clear of public censure for their attempt to cover up their traitorous acts, which plunged the north-south relations into the dangerous phase through dependence on foreign forces and moves for a war against the north, and to evade the denunciation at home and abroad.

The commentary goes on:

The inter-Korean relations reached an impasse, due to the treacherous acts of the south Korean authorities.

The joint military exercises with different missions in south Korea were only renamed, but they remained unchanged in their nature of aggression.

It is a deceptive act far from the common sense to talk about the "dialogue" and "trust" while persisting in the provocations of threatening the dialogue partner and building up tension, which is no more than the reckless acts of the former conservative regime that had been madly keen on smear campaign against the north while running amuck in the confrontation with the fellow countrymen.

The south Korean authorities are shamelessly placing the responsibility for the inter-Korean relations in impasse on the north, like "the guilty party filing the suit first," not doing what they should do. This only shocks all the people.

The south Korean authorities' continuous misleading of public opinion would bring them nothing good.
