President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il set independence as the lifeline of the Korean revolution and fundamental foundation of the state building, and had advanced the revolution and construction to victory, resolutely rejecting flunkeyism, dogmatism and the high-handedness and pressure by outside forces.

Under the guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the Democratic People's Republic of Korea advanced along the road of independence from the start and turned into a dignified and powerful socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence.

As it held fast to the revolutionary line of independence as its lifeline, the DPRK could display its might as the invincible socialist fortress in fierce showdown with the imperialist allied forces when socialism was collapsed in some countries.

Validity and vitality of the independent line were more clearly proved in the grand march of the new century of Juche.

Thanks to the mettle and determination of the WPK led by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, the country rapidly grew up in overall strength, touch-and-go situation was eased and dramatic events, unimaginable in the past, took place one after another.

Now the DPRK is in the world limelight. The world public has commented that settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue depends on the strategic decision and will of the DPRK, no matter what kind of stand and attitude neighboring countries will take. This is the strategic position and strength gained by the DPRK with the might of independent politics.

In the course of going through stern trials under the guidance of the WPK, the Korean people came to cherish deeper the faith that independence is the only way out and it is a shortcut to prosperity.

With the birthday of the WPK (October 10) approaching, they are paying the highest glory to the WPK guiding them to the final victory of the Juche revolution.
