The contest, divided into vocal music and instrumental music, drew pupils and students of orphanages, primary and middle schools for orphans in each province including Haeju Orphanage, Pyongyang Primary School for Orphans and Wonsan Middle School for Orphans.

Performers fully displayed musical talents they have learned to their heart's content being called the king of the country under the socialist system.

Put on the stage were numbers such as song tale "Our House of Love" and male chorus "Our Marshal Is Best" expressing gratitude for Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, and other pieces reflecting their pledge to prepare themselves to be pillars of socialist Korea.
