He in the work gave a classic formulation that socialism presupposes statistics, said that statistical work must be unified so as to ensure that figures are scientific and objective, and comprehensively expounded basic principles, methods and ways in statistical work.

Kim Jong Il published the work on Oct. 21, 1999 to develop in depth the Juche-oriented socialist theory of statistics created by the President in conformity with the requirements of the times and developing revolution.

He in his work clarified the main missions and basic principles of socialist statistics of the country and set forth the orientations and ways of improving and strengthening the statistical work under the changed circumstances

The feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the field of socialist statistics are shining more brightly and the statistics is developing at a new high stage under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Attending the meeting were O Su Yong, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, officials of ministries and national institutions and officials in the field of statistics in Pyongyang.
