The sporting event, which opened on Oct. 18, brought together over 9,300 ace sportspersons of more than 100 countries and regions including the DPRK, China and Russia.

Pak Un Gwang, a DPRK wrestler, defeated his Romanian rival in the final of men's freestyle wrestling on Oct. 21 to come first in the men's 57kg category.

DPRK table-tennis players came second in the men's team event and DPRK shooting players finished third in the men's team event of 25m pistol military speed fire.

Ri Pok Hyang and Jon Yu Sun, DPRK women judoists, bagged bronze medals respectively in the women's 63kg and 48kg events.
