During the invasion (1592-1598), they adopted Korean tigers as the first target of plunder.

On Toyotomi Hideyoshi's order in 1593, the Japanese aggression troops got hell-bent on hunting tigers. They sent hunted tigers to him for the first time in autumn of that year and did such offering three times in 1594.

The Japanese aggressors also plundered lots of such animals and plants as magpie, horse and cycad.

They even carried away timbers for building temples.

The fact can be proved by Fudoin Temple in Hiroshima Prefecture of Japan. The main gate of this temple, rebuilt by a Japanese war monk, is made of rare timbers from Korea. Letters engraved on the rafters of the two-storied gate show that the gate was made with Korean timbers in 1594.

Similar letters were also carved in the eaves of the main Buddhist sanctum of Kokutaiji Temple in the prefecture.

As seen above, the predatory acts committed by the Japanese aggressors during the invasion were an out-and-out organized and premeditated robbery and a state-sponsored crime.

Nevertheless, politicians of Japan are putting forward Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the principal of the invasion, as a "national hero". Such move would only harden the will of the Korean people to settle accounts with Japan.
