A mass rally held in Samdung-myon nominated the President as a candidate member of the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee and the people of the township asked him to visit their township.

Being considerate of the ardent desire of the people of the township, the President visited the place on Oct. 16, 1946.

He extended his heart-felt thanks to all the residents and electors of the township who opened a splendid mass rally to enthusiastically welcome him.

Referring to the significance of the first democratic election, he strongly appealed to all the electors to take an active part in the election with high political awareness, consolidate our people's power as firm as a rock and push forward the building of a democratic, independent and sovereign state.

At the Samdung Revolutionary Site are historic buildings including the house where the President had a talk with officials, and historical mementoes and data preserved to their original glory.

Millions of people have visited the Samdung Revolutionary Site for five decades since it was built.
