Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un set forth the slogan "Let us open a new road of advance for socialist construction under the uplifted banner of self-reliance!" in his New Year Address and clarified the goals and tasks to be accomplished and the ways for attaining them, the editorial says, and continues:

All the victories and achievements made by us this year were the brilliant fruition of the wise guidance provided by the Supreme Leader and a noble outcome of the heroic struggle waged by the Korean people who devotedly implemented the plan and intention of the party with firm trust in their own strength.

We have to beat louder the drum of self-reliance full of confidence in sure victory and attain the goal of this year's drive through uninterrupted renovation and offensive.

All the fields and units have to wage more courageously the last charge for honoring the national economic plan for this year at any cost.

The drive for brilliantly concluding this year has to be carried out in close combination with the preparations for the drive for next year.

We are required to effect great innovation one after another from the beginning of the next year with full preparedness and thus celebrate in a big way the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea as the most significant revolutionary holiday with substantial labor achievements.

The editorial appeals to all to make a final charge for successfully concluding the drive for this year in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance.
