According to data available, the generating capacity based on different energies has increased to tens of thousands of kilowatts up to now this year.

The generating capacity from solar energy is over 86 percent and that from biomass and coal gasification are over 7.7 percent and 4.7 percent respectively.

South Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces take the lead in developing the diverse energy resources, with 15.4 percent and 14.9 percent each of the total generating capacity.

All the city and county post offices under the South Phyongan Provincial Telecommunication Management Bureau established a power production system based on coal gasification to supply electricity for their operation by themselves, while cities and counties of North Hwanghae Province have made a big progress in creating the generating capacity based on solar and biomass energies.

The work to develop the diverse energy resources is getting more brisk under the state measure and the growing interest of many citizens.
